His mother, Trista, announced his passing after days of asking the public to pray for her son’s recovery.
Brantley was struck on October 16 near Highway 90 and Stilson Road in Dayton. Following the incident, he was airlifted to Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston, where he received treatment for devastating injuries. His family and supporters had been hoping he would recover.
According to the account shared by his family’s supporters, authorities alleged that the 70-year-old school bus driver failed to stop and help Brantley after the collision.
